Fresh Vegetables At The Covington Farmers Market
Home Page Of St Tammany Parish
Welcome to Covington Louisiana Farmers Market is located 2 blocks north of the Old Downtown Antique District. Also known as the side lawn of the Covington Police Station – 609 North Columbia Street.
The Covington Farmers Market is a true Farmer Market with all sorts of fresh produce. This area of SE Louisiana is a community of producers and consumers of homegrown fresh produce, prepared food and lovers of country music. On Saturdays you can expect to find music, usually a local musician and always good family music. There are plenty of free samples of foods to try from local chefs cooking up some of the taste of Louisiana.
The Covington Louisiana Farmers Market offers fruit and vegetables from local producers. The market offers a broad selection of live native, culinary and ornamental plants. The market does not have the usual crafts or commercial items that other farmers markets have turned to in order to do business. This market has plenty of farmers and people cooking up local foods to fill the area up. If I had to guess I would say there were over 50 farmers/vendors the day I was there taking pictures.
Live music at the Farmers Market is supported by a grant from the Louisiana Division of the Arts, Office of Cultural Development, Department of Culture, Recreation and Tourism in cooperation with the Louisiana State Arts Council as administered by the Saint Tammany Parish Commission of Cultural Affairs.
