Pictures Of Fontainebleau State Park Cabins On Lake Pontchartrain
Here are some pictures of the Fontainebleau State Park cabins that are on Lake Pontchartrain and just steps from the water. These are nice cabins and the water is only about 1 to 2 feet deep where the steps go into the water. This makes for the perfect place to canoe, kayak, fish and go crabbing on Lake Pontchartrain. When the winds kick up the lake can get a little rough so be careful when the winds are coming from the south or if storms are can be seen. Have fun fishing and crabbing from your cabin or the steps leading into the water. You can wade or swim in this area where the cabins are. Below are some pictures that were taken in 2008 but for the most part the area still looks the same. Cabin rentals are usually booked way in advance but hotels are available in the area of Interstate 12 and near to 3 local State Parks.

The Fontainebleau State Park Cabins have gone through a renovation during the winter of 2016 and the beginning of 2017. They are now open and ready to be rented out. Make sure you reserve a cabin way in advance because they are booked up months in advance.
The cabins in the pictures are on or over Lake Pontchartrain and provide steps that lead down to the water.
If this state park is full you may want to try the Bogue Chitto State Park . That is about 30 minutes north of the Fontainebleau State Park.
